Just looking for some insight. A disclaimer first though. This is very much for fun, and there's no real end goal for me doing this, other than having a bit of fun picking up old glass and having a play around with it.

I currently have an a6000 which I'm happy with. I've no real inclination to upgrade, but I do enjoy adapting lenses. Currently only manual focus things but I enjoy (or atleast used to enjoy prelockdown) hitting the charity shops and seeing ehat old lenses they have. My favourite lens i have is probably an old minolta 50 1.8.

So I'm thinking about going one further to start looking at either older a mount lenses or Canon glass. Both mounts seem to have endless models and prices are very attractive.

Si just wondering if anyone has any input as to what direction to go? I think the adapters are similarly priced on the 2nd hand market and seem to perform adequately, so I suppose my question would be more to do with what would mount rabbit hole should I go down? I'm thinking ef but I do seem to see alot of a mount stuff out there too!

As I said, this is just for fun, and I'm not looking for that 'special' lens. My Sony native selection is more than enough for me, its just a cheap way of getting new toys to play with!

mc-11 won't really give you usable AF with majority of canon lenses especially so with older ones. You'd need to upgrade your body for that.

LA-EA2 would since it has its own AF system but its bulkier. It really hampers the handling your small A6000. Also for slightly more you can just buy an old a-mount body like A58 which is probably better if you want to mess around with a-mount glass.

Interesting. Must admit, I hadn't seen that point about mc11 with the a6000 anywhere before you mentioned it. Will need to investigate!

You're probably right about picking up a a mount body rather than adapter. I shall investigate that also!
