Hi folks

Just to let you know that Ladybird hasn't been around on the forums for a while as she is flat on her back with a slipped disc. She is in a lot of pain; the painkillers are helping but not all that much. :'(

Before you ask, she doesnt know exactly how she did it. However, she moved house recently and as such has been doing quite a lot of moving stuff and fixing stuff. So who knows...

Here's hoping she is well soon, and will be back to her chirpy bubbly self!

Thanks all.

wish you well Ladybird!

Get well soon LB..:)

Been there, done that, and it is extremely painful and uncomfortable, I wish her a speedy recovery.

Hope she is ok and has a quick recovery. I've done similar and its not nice at all.

all the best.. gws

Sorry to hear that Joe :'( I hope she gets better very soon

*cough* jumping of the wardrobe dressed as Wonder Woman *cough* ;)

Ouch! Was wondering why she hadn't been around. Best wishes for a speedy recovery LB - hope Joe is looking after you well and keeping you pampered!

Oh that smarts! wish her well Joe

Ouch!

That hurts! And it was exceptionally quiet around here, I just didn't know why. ;)

Say hi for me to Ladybird (and those funky rabbit slippers).

I'm also sure I can hear the patter of tiny Toto paws in the distance, so know doubt she'll head into this thread as well. :)

Best wishes to the rabbit lady!! ;):D

Painful... and damned inconvenient! Hope LB is better soon Joe.

Well ... :suspect: ... is she up and about yet Joe ... ... now you've done all the hard work for her ... :D

Nasty.

Memories of my dad spending 6 weeks laid out with a slipped disc when I was young so many sympathies to both of you ;)

Yeah, Ouch!

Best wishes on a speedy recovery

Not good and very painful, send her my best wishes for a speedy convalescence.

Hope she gets well soon!!! Take care, Ladybird!

Sorry to hear about that Joe & LB - Have you seen anyone other than a GP? Bed-rest is not the best way to recover other than in the early stages (first few days) - You need to get some gentle exercise after that but it is very important to see an expert to get the back assessed & find out what is the best treatment - I swear by physiotherapy rather than chiro's & osteo's but all have their merits - this is as a long term back pain sufferer :( - Get well soon ... Paul

I've suffered with this in the past and know how debilitating this can be.

Like PaulBoy says get a physio to help you out it can make a lot of difference in your recovery time.

Hope you get well soon...Lee

Ouch, I know how she feels. I did two discs in my back about three years ago, never felt a pain like it.

I'd agree with Paul, use Physio in preference to Chiro and Osteo. The other thing which helped me was acupuncture.

When she feels ready to get more mobile she'll find sitting down may be a problem. Personally I found this type of chair was comfortable and easy to use.

Not sure what sort of work she does but if it's office based see if it's possible to get a desk where you can adjust the height. I bought one which allows me to stand up and work on the days when the backs giving me twinges.

hope you get well soon Ladybird

Get well soon. I cant imagine the pain not having been through it myself but I know of others who have and know what they went through back to full health.

Geçmiş olsun (may it soon be passed)

A good bloke would nip out and buy a 37" or bigger screen and ceiling mount it above her bed, then connect the pc to it so she can surf and post while incapacitated.

:)

Get well soon LB :)

Thankyou all for the good wishes and the advice, I am still in a lot of pain. Joe has been fab! has been here for me in the evenings cooking etc. Mum & Dad looking after me in the day. Could not have managed the last few days without all the help.

Can manage to get up about three/four times a day for about 5 mins! then in agony again. :( improving very very slowly.

Thanks again everyone, I hope to be back real soon.
