LADY SUE'S 52- Part 2- Together ( a funny one) page 10

hope you had a good Christmas.

Did she leap into his arms?! I think the black and white works well.

Thank you. Christmas was OK. I'm hoping that the New Year will turn out better. Happy New Year to you and yours.

Yes the girl did leap into the boys arms but I didnt manage to capture that.

That looks cold! I like the composition and the mono works well. Did you get them to pose for you, and did they fall over afterwards? :D

Thank you. It was a very cold day and I only managed a few shots as I cant walk or stand much. I was lucky with this one- they didnt pose for it. I just spotted them and snapped the shot. I spoke to them afterwards and asked the girl to pose for my 100 strangers project on Flickr. They didnt fall over. I wish I had carried on shooting as she jumped into his arms.

Love the Into my Arms but feel it may need a little more contrast IMHO

I like this shot. The Mono works well & I think it could be improved with a crop - maybe off the top and left hand side.

Phil

Merry Christmas Sue and best wishes for a better New Year.
How's Abby doing now? I haven't seen any updates on your thread about her for a while.

Your romance shot is perfect for the theme, the B&W suits it and I actually rather like the composition just the way it is. Well done for managing to get out and get it when you're having difficulty getting around.

The ice crystals for close are beautiful - we don't seem to have had anything like that around here or I wouldn't have been able to resist having a go at shooting them.
At first glance I would have preferred it to have been better focused, but the more I look at it the more it grows on me. I almost feel like I should be wearing a pair of 3D glasses to be looking at it.

Together

I saw these two at Colchester zoo today eating lunch together. They made me smile and I thought they would make a good pair to finish off my 52.It was taken through glass of course. Comments and critique welcome. I have really enjoyed doing the 52 and I will do one again but maybe not this year.As the Photographer of the Year is now theme based I might have a go at that.

I would like to say a big thank you to those who have stuck with me and commented on my pics throughout the year, especially to Sarah who has given me such a lot of good advice.

So here is the picture

Close... an interseting abstract, but it's really doing something odd to my eyes ... good colour...

Romance, love it, mono works so well for this and fits perfectly... I bet somewhere in the next second or two would have been a wonderful action freeze moment.

Together, it fits the theme well, and they are clearly eating together.

Well done on getting to the end Sue

Not bad on sharpness given the shot is through glass. This pair eating together made me smile!

All the best for 2011

Thanks John. I am not happy with the close picture myself- it makes my eyes go funny too.It was one of those weeks where I couldnt get anything better. In the romance picture you are right- the girl did jump into the lads arms. I didnt catch that.

Thanks Phil. I'm glad that strange twosome made you smile- they did me too.Apparently the funny lizard thing is an iguana.

Happy New Year to you too

Hi Sue, congratulations on finishing your 52

That's a really amusing take on the theme and tricky to take through glass. At first I thought it was a strange combination of creatures, but of course, land iguanas and giant tortoises live together in the Galapagos so I guess they should in the zoo, too.

Happy New Year!

Jenny

They certainly seem to be enjoying dining together, made me smile too.

Well done for getting to the end of your 52.

Have a good 2011.

Thank you Jenny and thanks for your comments through the year. I am going to give the 52 a rest this year to concentrate on other projects.

Thank you. I have really enjoyed doing the 52.

Happy New Year Sue and well done on getting to the end
Thank you for the mention in your thread too - I'm happy that I've been able to contribute and help a bit this year.

And what a great photo to finish on - it definitely made me smile. It may be the wine I've had today, but the iguana looks like a dinosaur to me
It must have been really tricky to get that through glass, but you've handled it well. No sign of any reflections and the sharpness is very good given the circumstances  It shows really well how much you've learnt through the 52.

A lovely picture to end the year with! Given the difficult conditions it has come out really well!

Happy New Year - I hope you enjoy lots more togging.

Now we're at the end....

I've enjoyed seeing your photos this year and commenting on them. Thank you for taking the trouble to comment on mine.

Well done on finishing a tough year Sue.

Romantic - I realy like this. The B&W suits the shot well.

Together - Bang on theme. Why did "the odd couple" spring to mind straight away

I have enjoyed your thread and I apologise for not commenting on every shot.

Hi Sue.

Finishing up for the 52.

Close: I like the colour on this and the abstract feel, but the focus puts me off a little.

Romantic: You have caught a lovely moment here. The framing is just right and the mono conversion suits it perfectly.

Together: Haha. Great picture. Made me smile. Love the expression of the iguana.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on my shots Sue and really pleased you have found this project as useful as I have.
