ok im sat at home, ill (so no work today) pondering the meaning of life, ive run out of family guy to watch and well i started wondering.....

where am i going....... photographically.....?

ive not really done anything that ive been proud of with my camera for the past i dunno 6months or so after moving, there just isnt the type of photography i like shooting where i now live, so i now lack motivation, maybe its the weather or something but the last few times ive had my camera out the results have been less than impressive. so im right down on motivation.

so please someone motivate me!

ive been trying to think of ways of motivating myself but i cant actually see anything i actually want to do that im actually capable of doing.

and then i thought well i have the entire day on a saturday, usually in liverpool where i could do something, but again nothing i want to do, nto too keen on architecture because my photographs never seem to look good and its not something that inspires me. i could go out and photograph people in the street but again, im not in the slightest bit interested in photographing people outside of a closed environment! so thats out. its now hitting winter so theres precious little motorsport going on (and non round here+ the fact i dont have the right lenses!).

id like to do some portraits but i lack practice and also subjects, girlfriend doesnt like being photographed so thats out of the window! tryed photographing myself and it doesnt happen!

so im stuck trying to find something im vaguely interested in to actually photographing that i can actually do!

anyone got any ideas?

i know what you mean, im struggling with too many other things to do, so taking pictures isnt getting much attention..though you have given me some inspiration of another sort!

I've gone through a similar lull in Surrey - not the most inspiring county compared to home (Herefordshire).

I've experimented with just using one lens (50mm) and forced myself to really concentrate - some results have frankly been laughable (except its not funny).

However, its rained all week down here so, with the promise of a sunny start tomorrow, i've set my alarm for pre-dawn and i'm packing ALL my kit into my car for some sunrise and mist shots - i'll put the results up and i'm just hoping that i'll like one of them ;)

You have some fantastic diversity in Liverpool - relax and enjoy it - try some B&W architectural shots - i think it was hacker that published some awesome tutorials (apologies if i've misrepresented someone!!) - they got me going again.

This games too expensive to despair!!!!!!!!

Inspiration?
Well, your location says 'Cumbria'...I'm sure theres some place called the lake district over there  :) So ther must be plenty of landscapes, or sport such as canoeing, or maybe some climbers
Then for motorsport, there should be lots of motocross meets going on near you, plus maybe a rally.

On the other hand I know what its like when you're not in the mood to take photos, its difficult to get motivated sometimes. :)

LOL. We all have these periods and probably always will. ;)

Also the lake district is used by the military so you could try and catch some fighter jets though the valleys.
