Not sure which section to put this in, so mods please move if necessary.

I'm creating a photobook for my aged Aunt (who probably doesn't have too long left :( ) and she has also been diagnosed with dementia & Alzheimers.

I recently stayed for a week with her and spent the time taking her visiting to friends & relatives and the old family farm & lots of places that she spent time at when a child.

I've taken lots of photos of places, but more importantly family & friends who have been important in her life.

The photobook is going to be a combination of photos and snippets from the family tree... i.e. how she is related to the people in the photos, especially the younger generations.
I'm hoping that she'll appreciate it as something made with love for her, but also to act as something to help trigger her memory when things become difficult.

So, has anyone on here created a family tree in photoshop and could give me some pointers?
or perhaps even come across a template?

All help gratefully received, and thanks in advance :)

Nice idea :D - I wouldn't do it in Photoshop.

Get your images sorted (colours, cloning etc) in Photoshop and then use an album creation program. You'll find it far easier to tweak the layout.

I use Photojunction for books (free from those nice chaps at Queensberry - you don't have to print with them). But you could use iPhoto on a Mac, Lightroom books facility or the software from the company who will print your book. All of these will make it pretty easy to do what you want.

This might be a bit of a long way around, but you could enter everyone into MyHeritage, that then allows you to produce various family trees for output as a PDF, squirt this into your book design - JD.

Who are you using for your Photobook ?

thanks Jonathan, I'm using the Aperture photo book app on the Mac, I want to try it out & see if it's any good...
