La Calima is a dust cloud that is carried on an easterly wind from the west coast of Africa..Sahara dessert ...and causes respiratory problems over the Canary islands. This morning I was unable to see across the water to the island of La Gomera. 16 miles away. It's usually well visible, not this morning, though at 8.00am. It's 2.08pm and visibility is worse.

"Levels of PM10 micro-particles - those smaller than 10 microns - are expected to exceed 400 μg/m³ on Monday, far above the threshold set by the World Health Organisation. The WHO considers air quality “poor” when daily averages exceed 45 μg/m³, making this episode “particularly severe”.
What these episodes often do is to create wonderful sunsets and I'm hoping that will be the case this evening and tomorrow evening. We were booked into the waiter-service restaurant at 6.45 this evening..normally it's the self-service dining room.. and sunset is 7.00pm. There's no way I could sit and enjoy the meal looking at a great sunset and not be able to photograph it so we cancelled it and will go to the diningroom when it opens at 6.30pm but I'm off if it's looking good ......no matter...Lol. My wife is used to this and is understanding. We'll do the restaurant on Friday. Most self-service hotels. do a free evening in the restaurant..hoping you'll go again,I suppose...but pay. It's universally-called 'the culinarium' .A la carte menu.
