L-Mount Alliance Owners Thread

that looks pretty impressive with the lumix kit lens! i just got this lens bundled 'free' with the s9 so i'm hoping it will work well - some people are saying the 24-60/2.8 is worth getting as it would be nice to have constant f/2.8 so perhaps a future upgrade

It's been a cracking workhorse of a lens for the last 3 and a half years, I have zero complaints about it that's for sure! :)

really looking forward to using the lumix ecosystem as it's so compact compared with my canon, although i was toying with a used r6ii at £1,299 from my local lce, but the deal on the s9 with lens was too good to pass over at £999

I switched to Lumix from Sony about 3 and a half years ago now, and haven't looked back. The S5 and now S5iiE ergonomics are perfect, but it was the Lumix colour science that was the deal breaker.

Just ordered an S9 with 18-40 as an almost-everyday carry to use when, well, I feel like using something different. Was looking around for a suitable camera, but nothing really seemed to satisfy that itch. The S9 setup was at such a good price it would have been churlish to refuse, especially as my wife sort-of sanctioned it. I only intend to use it for stills as I have zero interest in making videos. Should be arriving Saturday.
Quick question - do those LUTs get baked into the RAW files or just jpegs?

Hi Stephen the LUTs don't get baked into the raw file that stays as an untouched file. You can convert the raw to jpg from the lut in camera or shoot raw+jpg to have a saved file automatically with the lut applied. Hopefully that makes sense.

Golly !! Didn’t see that coming.

Don't panic, Trevor! I'm not defecting from OM (famous last words, I know). I just had an itch and was granted the wherewithal to scratch it. I wanted a camera to replace my LX100 but with a better sensor. Couldn't think of anything else except a Sony A7C, which I've already owned and sold as it just didn't tickle me. Watch this space.
