I'm about to step into the world of DSLRs, and where better to get great advice than a photography forum. So I joined. Plus this one has thee best smileys I've seen on a forum! :lol:

Anyways, I'm Melissa, I'm 17 & from Northern Ireland..It's part of the UK for anyone who doesn't know.

I shall be purchasing a DSLR very soon, but haven't quite decided which one yet, can anyone tell me which section of the forum i should post a thread in concerning this?

Also if anyone knows any good photography info sites, I'd love to check them out. I'm really a total newbie so would like to learn the terminology and how different settings affect your pictures etc...

Hiya welcome!! This is the best place to find out info about cameras, etc. Feel free to ask questions under the approprate forum. Even if it seems like a daft question dont be afraid to ask!!

It's not often i meet others from Norn Iron in forums!

As for the Canon recommendation, i don't think i can afford one, only gots around £350 to work with :shrug:
