Yes
Can anyone point me in the direction of a repairer for my Konica Minolta Dynax DSLR. The memory card release mechanism is broke and the card won't stay in.
I'm getting married on Friday and wanted to take some shots form my side of the occassion!:(

I would doubt that you will get a repair turned around and back with you by Friday though.

You might say where you are and someone may know somewhere local to you that might look at it. Although if you're getting married on Friday you should probably have better things to do with your time than faff about with getting a camera fixed.

If anything I would be inclined to break out the screwdrivers or buy a new camera - whats the minimum cost for even a simple repair ? £50? £75?

Good thinking, I'm in Lancashire.

Wedding's all sorted, nothing to worry about there.....................I hope!

I had a go with the screwdrivers last night, but once I'd got the camera into about 10 pieces and was still nowhere near the broken parts, I thought I'd better start putting it all back together before I forget where it all went!

I don't agree with buying a new camera though! What would that cost, £400?

I think you can get the new sony alphas from about £250 body only going up to £2000.

Just had a quote from somewhere, it's a common fault apparently, £100 should see it fixed. Or, I could pay £100 on my insurance excess and get a new one?!?!?!

New A200= £230 or £240 with the kit lens. I'd rather put my £100 towards that rather than into a repair on an old one.

but it's not that old, it still takes photos and has more buttons than I know what to do with. It seems a shame to bin it just because one part is faulty. I think I might be able to 'modify' it to a satisfactory state, so maybe I'll keep my £100!

But thanks everyone for their help!

Did the shutter pack up on yours too?
