Can anyone help here please?
My son has a medium sized pond in the garden with about 12 Koi of around 10" in length.
We were told never to let frogs come into the pond as they eat the fish's eyes. We have never heard of such a thing...and have since found no-one else who has either.
The other day my husband noticed a Koi swimming about with a frog on its head, the fish was jumping out of the water to shake it off.
I knocked it off with a stick and that was that.
I still feel that the frog was looking for a mate as it is the breeding season and grabbed the first "frog-like" thing it could find. Nothing else has happened since.
Now we have 5 large clumps of frog spawn and at least 5 frogs in the pond. They dont seem to be a worry to the fish. I know the fish may eat the tadpoles, but that not a worry either.
Its a nice thing to have them there......... but should I get rid of them or are they ok??
