I thought it might be useful to have a thread for this camera.

Finally stopped raining so nipped out to blast a roll of Wolfen away.

Dead easy to use. Used the distance focus mode most of the time and tried the close one a couple of times. Didn't bother with the multi exposure.

Only negative thing is it's too easy to hit the mode button and change the flash mode. I had it on Auto so it should have only fired when light levels dropped too low but at some point I must have knocked it onto constant flash. Didn't have my glasses on and couldn't be bothered to get them out so I left it like that for the last dozen shots or so. It was quite gloomy out so I don't think it really mattered a great deal. Bit annoying though,

Other than that I don't think it likes cold weather as battery thingy was showing batteries on half full when I got home after one roll with about 20 flash shots. Lithium or high capacity re-chargeables might be a good idea for cold weather or endurance shooting :)

Wanged the results off to film processing.co.uk as they're usually the quickest to return scans.

Another camera where it's too easy to change the modes, my next p17 roll will be mostly black because I kept changing the dial by accident. My fat fingers will have a field day there!
Still may do the job as my work pocket cam. What battery does it take?
Looking forward to the results (y)

Maybe a bit of self adhesive Velcro could be pressed into service as a switch cover to reduce the chances of catching the mode switch.

Well Filmprocessing are like greased lightening. Got the scans back already!

Used Wolfen NC500 which I find a bit weird. I'd think a classic kodak/fuji film would look a bit better under the same conditions. Considering it's one fixed exposure it's not too shabby.

Dead easy to use as well so it's definitely a good little pocket camera. Flash is a bit weak for anything other than things within about a couple of metres.

Rest of them are on the photostream

Great (y)

Just bought one in the grey colour. It’ll be perfect for me to use at work. Not bothered about the flash and I’ll be shooting hp5 or similar. Not keen on the Wolfen either.
Love how you’re my Guinea pig buying and testing them all :ROFLMAO:

You must be local to me looking at your images. Not been to Little moreton Hall in years, drive past regularly if I’m working in congleton and peek at it through the trees:ROFLMAO:

Luckily I've got a few NT Places within about an hour. They're useful to go around for blasting through a roll of film!

I just hope there aren't a load more new film cameras released in 2026....

I'm kind of considering a Snapic, the images from yours look sharp enough (I don't like the look of that Wolfen mind).

I think what does it for me is it that I'd like at least a couple more aperture options so as not totally relying on film choice and it's latitude. I had aperture control with the MC-A but look where that got us!!

I think the Pentax 17 is probably the best all rounder for MCA money. It's the one I take if I want reliable and predictable results.

I quite like the unpredictablity of fixed exposure cameras. It's interesting to see how film behaves under different conditions with just one exposure and flash.

I suppose the closest I may get to some additional exposure control in a new camera that isn't MC-A money (or Holga:() would be the H35N with f11 as standard but f8 available by taking the battery out and turning the flash on.

Interestingly both the H35N and Snapic are made by Reto. Maybe Lomo could pay them to build the MC-A's film transport mechanism!!

Seems to be about 100% that show faults. I'd think the customer return rate is going to be very high.
Don’t say that. I’ve still got a handful of frames left, then I’ve got to rewind then I’ve got to develop. The odds already look grim, don’t jinx it more:D

I’ve still got a handful of frames left,
Just rattle them off. A shot of the telly, your slipper, anything basically. When the film is developed you'll have your own evidence and you can then make a decision on what to do.

According to Royal Mail tracking my camera has reached it's return destination. However I wouldn't fancy relying on my RM proof of delivery photo in a court of law...

Looks like one of my shots :ROFLMAO:

If the weather plays nice, I may finish it tomorrow or friday. There’s already lots of dog shots on the roll!

How is the dog at wearing hats? Could at least have some dog fashion :)

He’s already got a winter coat that his mum bought for him. Don’t think a hat would go with it.

I’m not a fan, it’s purple lol!

Mines still not arrived. Bought it new from eBay, had a £10 voucher through them. Looking forward to trying it out.
