Hello all, I need some help here...

I bought an used bulk film loader from Ebay and, for my surprise, it came loaded with a roll of film inside (10 meters approx), I've asked to the seller about it and he does not know anything, so I took an empty canister, prepared a 36 exp roll, and did some test shots from ASA 100 to 400. After developing it with C-41 black and white chemicals, I'm able to see almost all the shots, but the result is very bad (all dark brown), and the type of film: Kodak Safety Film 5071.

I've done some research over the internet and it seems that it was used to make duplicates of slides (now discontinued), so I think it has a low speed, like 80 or even less, but not sure, and has to be processed with E-6, not C-41.

Anyone here has experience with that film or similar?

Thank you John (y)

Now I need to find info about the speed and how to use it, if possible, as a normal film, because I don't do duplicates or anything like that, in fact I do not have slides to duplicate even if I want to... maybe it's a sign to start with slides. :)

You are correct, my mistake, C-41 is for colour, what I meant is that I used b&w chemicals (R09), because it easier, faster and works even with C-41 colour films.

Do you have any experience with Kodak Safety Film 5071?

Never used dupe film, its low contrast, slow and probably needs colour correction.
But if you accept it'll likely be some kind of lomo experience using it, get it fired in....:)

Thank you again John, but I was hoping that maybe someone here could have some experience with that type of film and with guidance I will do something more useful of it, but the film is most probably expired already so the lomo experience is unavoidable.

Here some of the test results using ASA 32...

Camera: Pentax ME + SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7

Developer: Compard Digibase C-41 Kit

Next time I will try some shots with ASA 12.
