Kodak, it was on the cards wasn't it

Certainly on this one...

they are also trying to sue Samsung AGAIN for patent theft I believe.....get what they can on the way out

I think their profits have been based on patent infringement for some time now.
Other manufacturers have settled, they are still chasing Apple for $8billion.

Mind you, Their business plan was flawed as it was based upon fairy tales

They though their prints would save them...

On AG Photographics' Twitter they've been discussing & been keeping everyone following them updated on Kodak's business issues.

No one to blame but themselves.

It would appear that they (Kodak) were the first to develop a digital camera but the didn't follow it through.

This is according to the BBC buisness news.

sad tho!
still things move on and some get left at the roadside

I love brownies.

Sorry, wrong forum.

No they haven't been made bankrupt, they have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. A far cry from going under. Most US firms do this when they need a little time to reorganise.

I can't imagine that Kodak will go under for a real long time yet.

Up as far as 1996 they had 90% of the film/paper market......

Few other names have nearly gone too today. Pumpkin Patch clothes and Peacocks.

Won't be a High street left soon, all flaming charity shops.

I'm surprised there's one now, whenever I go to a major shopping centre it's all clothes shops , probably one of the few types of shops that will survive because people like to try before they buy

Charity shops, restaurants, stand up type bars and hand car washes are thriving...

I reckon Kodak have an identity crisis and marketing issue... their digital cameras are seen as cheap instamatics and not a brand oozing kudos to the folks on the street like Nikon, Canon, even Samsung where people follow their phone etc. They make printers but you hardly see them anywhere nor the inks... They do high end imaging stuff but almost nobody outside the associated industries knows...etc. etc. They don't stand out with strong products or reputation in the modern marketplace.
