So I've bought some Kodak ColorPlus 200 from Analogue Wonderland.
Pretty excited to give this cheap stuff a try, I have a little project that I want to use it for. Will also look at home developing as sending away is pricey.

Anyone any experience with the film, your thoughts on it?

It's quite good film but IMO not as good as say Fuji superia.
About 5 years ago tried to get people interested in film photography by a true story of using a 50p compact and OOD Kodak colorplus for 10p (all from the bootie) and dev cost were £3 at Asda..total £3.60 so why not have a go with this shot:-
Forgot to add.... the smudge on the R side was my finger and one of the reasons I don't like compacts.

As you can see from Brian's shot above it really likes a sunny day, and I'd rate it at half speed as it doesn't like underexposure. It was ideal for trying out my £5 Chinon in September.

I do like the look of it, interesting you recommend pulling it to 100 too.
Has anyone tried it with longish exposures?

I use it for holiday snaps all the time - like the nice vintage blue colours

Rating at half speed doesn't mean pulling. Pulling would be adjusting the development.

For example, I rate Portra 400 at 200 and develop as normal which I am pretty sure is what Peter means here. :)

I really liked it. Only problem is 200 in this country is reserved for bright sunny days so it gets less use than I'd like.

My go to cheap colour film was this 2-3 years ago. I got a 10 pack brick @ £2 per 36 exp. 18 months ago that increased in price so I went to Fuji C200 @ £2.50 in a 10 brick. Think I prefer the Fuji overall but would have no qualms using the Colourplus again.

A quick search is showing 10 packs of Kodak at £4 per film and the Fuji at over a fiver a roll.

I bought a 10-pack a while ago but still have about 7 left as, to be honest, I just wasn't enthused by the results. I've been using Superia 400 as my "day to day" film, after Vista 400 vanished. However with Fuji's price increases, perhaps I'll have to try Kodacolor 200 again, rated at 100...

OTOH I've just discovered that one of my favourite shots was taken on expired K200 for Expired Film Day a couple of years ago...

Looking at the rest of the K200 shots, yes it does really like extra light.

A bit off topic, but I noticed a couple of those shots have what look like light leaks, that have turned up in occasional shots in one of my latest rolls. Both shot with the Pentax LX;, I'm inclined to think it's mis-handling, but in both cases the dodgy shots are in different places on the roll. Very odd.

My other half must have bought me the same several years ago as I have unused 36 exp films everywhere!! :ROFLMAO: I have got through one & another is sat on no35 after the other weekend.

I was also going to say that I tweak my speed so it over exposes too. And I'm not even an avid, regular or overly experienced film shooter!!

I tried ColorPlus 200 and wasn't that impressed, too much grain for my liking on a colour film, which I think is a pity really as I rather liked the colour rendition and saturation. These days I'd rather pay the extra and use Kodak Gold 200, which I think is about the best compromise between price and grain/colour saturation and rendition:

I was happy enough with the tonal qualities and colour of ColorPlus 200, it's just the grain that kills it for me for a 200 ISO film... for instance, I really wish I'd shot this on Gold 200 instead:
