Have been thinking of going to Knowsley Safari Park just wondered what it was like for getting some good shots ? or is it a waste of time as most would be taken through the glass of a car window .

Knowsley is ok but most of the time you have to keep your windows up and you cant get out.
The monkey enclosure is usually good for pics of them ripping some poor souls car apart.
We went in the wifes car ...

I did get one good one from there, this got me £100, even if it was on my old point and shoot.

I would have knowsley over any zoo. I got loads of good pics the one time I went and the only time window was shut wa sin big cat area (of course)

Theres a new route round the monkeys you can take instead of through to save owt getting broke.

I went on a midweek and it was quiet.. very few cars so could take time and get brillaint views.

Highly reccomended :)

As above, I went midweek did the safari first then all the other attractions the did the safari again before I left.

As KIPAX mentioned the only time you need your windows shut is in with the Lions (don't remember seeing any tigers or other big cats even though they're listed on the website) and the baboons. Got a couple of funny shots of the baboons on the ex girlfriends car though!

We went mid week so it was pretty quiet, and although it was a bit of an over cast day I got some really nice shots. Probably my best shots are of the meer kats, always one on the branch stood up taking watch.

Obviously you'll need a telephoto lens of sort some for the safari shots, I had a 70-210mm, but at times wished I had a 300mm or more.

Cheers,
