Kit storage

Over the years I've built up quite a collection (not massive or obscene by any means) of kit – lenses, could of bodies, flashes, battery pack, triggers, etc. – and was looking for something cheap and protective to store it all in one place. This is primarily so that I can keep it together without having piles of boxes to keep it all safe, but also for the occasional time when I want to take everything with me to play with. I have a few bags for different situations, but none of these are big enough to keep everything housed in one place. There used to be a few cheap big rucksacks around for togs a couple of years ago, but they all seem to have disappeared.

I was wondering what everyone else does to store all their kit, either to keep it all together or transport to location – and if anyone can help solve my storage quandary it would be appreciated.

Without knowing just how much it's difficult to say ... Pelicases are good and Tamrac do some very large shoulder bags - "cheap" could be a problem for anything large!

I keep all my DSLR gear in my Gladstone 11a shoulder bag and my Lowepro backpack. My medium format, and large format gear is in aluminium flight cases.

I have 6 pelicases, four large ones with studio kit in, a medium one which is my 'wedding' box ( they're great for weddings, get everything in, they have wheels so easy to transport, and strong enough to jump on for some extra height if needed) and a small one too. Also large tamrac backpack, smaller loewepro backpack that's the perfect size for carryon baggage, large bag for lighting stands, assorted smaller bags with reflectors etc. some stuff hanging up on straps, some stuff propped up like tri/monopods etc..
It's been getting a bit out of hand, photography gear all over the place.. I have a large locked metal cabinet that the backpacks live in with bodies and lenses, but only yesterday pulled everything out of one of my 'camera' cabinets full of odds and sods, threw most of it out and sorted the rest into labelled bins - much better! Am doing the same sort out on all the bags and other cabinets today..
