Hi,

I've currently got a D50 with Kit Lens and a Sigma 70-300 which i use predominantly for motorsport.

I feel i am kind of hitting my limits with the D50, and fancy upgrading to some better kit.

Budget would be £2k Max - so if anyone could make any recommendations? Would look at both Nikon or Canon.

Any suggestions?

Wait to see what the Canon 5D MkII is like and team it up with a 70-200 f2.8L Forget the IS version (too expensive) and a Manfrotto 685B mono pod.

Sexy kit that'd be for your two grand indeedy.

To be honest I'd just like a way of improving what i take! A bit more sharper etc. And to be honest the D50 seems to have a major dust issue which is kind of making me disown it indirectly.

I know everyone goes on about it being the glass which is more important, but can i really bring out the best of a great lens using a D50?

As for what Motorsport i shoot - Circuit racing and Rallying, some of my shots below.

Get a better lens first. Then upgrade body. No need spending cash unless you really want to. Could try hiring a lens from StewartR?

What is the dust problem? - dust affects all dSLR's to some extent.

Andrew, what would you recommend?

I'd really love a lens that can work well in low light/dusk conditions

sigma 120-300 f/2.8 (£1300) its within your budget and also enough left over for maybe another body.
