Hi guys,

Very happy as I have finally ordered my camera and a few other bits

Canon 60d inc. 18-55mm kit lens
8gb Sandisk Extreme Pro SDHC
Sigma 10-20 f4-5.6
Giottos MTL9261+5001 Aluminium Tripod and 3 Way Head Kit

However, I read some people mentioning they have had a "good copy" or "bad copy" of a lens. Presumably this means that lenses can vary from one to another? If so, how can I test my lenses when I receive them, is there a way? or is it just a case of looking at the photos you take and seeing if there is any variation in quality throughout the frame?

Appreciate the advice,

Del

Do not test anyting, just go out and take some pictures. Starting your photography with lens tesing is a road to hell.

the 55mm-250mm would be a great addition for not too much money.

As above del, just enjoy your new kit

:agree:

The 55-250IS lens is a cracker of a lens for the money, don't think you'd be disappointed

Thanks guys, think you're all right, sometimes you read and worry about stuff too much!

The tripod and lens turned up today, camera hopefully tomorrow! Looking forward to taking some pics!

The 55-250 is what I would prob go for next along with the nifty 50!

Cheers,

Del

Why didn't you get the 60D with 18-135? Anyway the 18-55 is ok for a start good luck on the 60D the 55-250mm is a good lens vs price and yes get the 50mm 1.8 nice lens to have in your kit.;) and also get a 16GB card not 8gb.

personally I'd be going for a smaller card, 4 or 8GB, don't like having all my eggs in 1 basket

Hi,

I went for the 18-55 as from what I have read its optically better than the 18-135, plus its cheaper!

As for the memory card, I think the 8gb will be enough to get me going. I'll just buy more as and when!
