Nice images Neil. Fear stands out as favourite for me. The others are very good too.

Fear is mine too, love it!! You wouldn't belive its just a white sheet with a torch!!

Hi Neil - Welcome to the forum

Direction - A road I know oh so well... a tough road to get even traffic i should think, Great Colour to the Sky

Fear - Love this shot !!!

Sigh - Good one, I have the same feeling going in mine :D

Sweet - A very nice image considering it was a reversing ring, again great colours

Look forward to seeing what you come up with next

Thanks for the comments people, just to say I have taken delivery of my new man cave(shed) very nice it is too!!! been looking at other photos on here and seen people using a light box, done a quick search online and came across a guide to make one!!! just wondered if anyone else has one? Bought or Made!!!

Well done on 'sweet'

Never heard of a reversing ring so I've looked it up. You've done well with the jelly beans now I know what one is!

Week 5 - Secure

Well after some thought and looking at other photos i deceided to cut a padlock in half!!!
after almost 30mins of sawing and hours wet & drying, trying to get a nice mirror finish I ended up with this...........

Week 5 - Secure 1 by kirkers1978, on Flickr

Wow, all that work!
I like it, the reflection of the key certainly adds a lot to it

A nice selection of work Neil from January all xpress their relative themes very well.
As for week 5 .....as Gramps says Wow! well actually a seriously wicked wow....what an excellent original idea. The version with the key works particularly well:thumbs:

Thats a really great shot Neil and you have taken a lot of trouble over this one. The lighting is really good too If this was being scored I would have given you 10/10

Thanks guys for the good comments, I enjoyed this weeks subject!! The lighting was tricky to get right, I made a light box! Took some playing about with to get the lighting right. I'm happy with it :)

wow that's amazing! loving the reflected key

Hi Neil
I like the look of your pics. Particularly Fear and secure. As you say the work to get the lock in that condition must have been intense. lovely shot and the lighting is excellent - hard to see how it could be betered. #2 is the better idea but to me #1 is a better image - just pure

Week 6 - Industry

Bayer CropScience Ltd has operated in Norwich on its Sweet Briar Road site for over 50 years, manufacturing crop protection products which are exported around the world. It is a major employer in the city and currently has around 270 employees. Bayer in Norwich has had a successful community relations programme running for many years, and in 2006, the company's efforts were recognised by winning the Chemical Industry Association's "Community Award".

Only got to take one shot!!! Don't think i should have been where i was!!!

Hi DK, yeah see what you mean, would of been nice to get it all in....

Hi Neil

Howevre , your efforts have really paid off...2 fab shots , great lighting...totlally love the reflection shot....top marks mister :clap:

Root....great lighting on both shots but the 2nd one gets top spot for me.....simple , clean , great focus , great detail in the onion...:clap:

Nice set of images. I really like your mirror padlock and your onion. Good stuff.

Too tight a crop on the plant for me but I'm loving the root veg option

Nice shots, not going to back track because there's becoming too many to do that but I love both interpretations of Root.

Looking forward to more

Direction – I like the colour in the sky

Fear – Nicely lit

Sigh – You should see my garage LOL

Sweet – Nice DoF

Secure – Wow you went to a lot of effort of this one. I worked. Great job especially the second one with the key

Industry – Spot on theme

Root – I like the second one although I think you may have cut this one in half quicker than the padlock LOL

Thanks for the comments people.........and yes the onion cut quicker than the padlock!!!!
