kingston 8gb cf

I think thats quite a good price, they are not particularly fast cards though.

They seem to be selling the 4gb version for £19.95  well i've just ordered one ,and at that price could not refuse .

Not sure how this guy could be undercutting 7dayshop at 17.99, with Play's fees to cover on top. Fakes perhaps?

Be sure to let us know when it arrives Dave!

If you go to amazon the exact same 8gb Kingston cards are being sold for £14.49 delivered, supplied by an amazon reseller going by the name of 7dayshop (yes, the same company), who are even undercutting the prices on their own website. Highly likely that retailers like 7DS are able to offer lower prices through amazon due to the sheer exposure the larger company provides.

Anyway I bought a couple of these at this price last month through amazon and they work fine

7dayshop are selling the new Sandisk Ultra 30mb/s 8Gb CF card for £19.99 - probably the best value for money card on the market at the moment. MyMemory have the same card for a pound extra but delivery will no doubt be quicker.

BIG MISTAKE !!!! My card arrived a couple of days ago and it's slooooooow ! I usually use a sandisk extreme 3 (4gb)and it is great but as i have a couple of weddings coming up i opted for the 8gb kingston ,,,,DOH ! I am going to throw it in the bin i tell ya ,,,,, you take a photo (in raw) and it takes nearly 8 seconds to appear on the screen 8 SECONDS :gag: Compared to the extreme 3 at under a second it seems to take forever .Lesson learned :(

Something not right there, I use Kingston 16Gb 133x cards in my 50D and there is no delay at all.

I'd suspect that the stickers say "Kingston 133x" but the card isn't :nono:

Odd. I've been using the 8GB Kingston 133x for the past month and haven't had any delay at all with my 50D, even at maximum burst rate, in RAW or Jpeg. And the 50D's file sizes are larger.

So you think the 16GB ones are genuinely x133, and the 8GB ones, for some inexplicable reason, are not? If your suggesting that somehow these 8GB cards are fakes, I just can't see why any 3rd-party manufacturer would go to all the trouble of imitating budget Kingston cards, to the extent of getting the packaging just right, when, if they had those resources available, they couldn't they just make top-end Sandisk fakes instead.

People are wary of sandisk fakes, ebay is full off them

But Kingston ? who would suspect them

or it could be that Kingston don't like Nikons, it's happened before :bang:

I take your point, but, if they are fakes, then this mysterious 3rd party manufacturer has not only labelled the cards Kingston (easy enough), but packaged them so perfectly (I couldn't tell the packaging apart from other genuine Kingston items), and then sold them at such a low price? It seems counter-intuitive, coz they wouldn't be getting much return from them after all that rigamarole. I've never seen a 3rd party knock off so well packaged before.

Anyway, this is all academic; I'm 100% certain they're genuine Kingston, and they perform as I'd expect a x133 card to perform, same as the 16GB ones mentioned earlier, which is fine with me!

EDIT: Nikon Dave, if you don't want them, please send them to me! I'd be really grateful!! ;)

I have a Kingston that works in my 40D but not in my 1D

Mine works sweetly in my 20D. If the dude with the one that doesn't work in his Nikon doesn't want it I'll take it off your hands?

Already been discussed :p:D

These cards don't work very well with Nikon, I have 4 of them and they are fine on my Canons, this has been mentioned quite a few times in the past, sorry I didn't get here sooner to let you know.

Yep, I have a couple of Kingston 133x cards which I had prior to owning my D300 and they won't work properly in the D300, slow write times and lots of errors.

Cards work fine in my car though.
