Yes
The missus has just decided to buy her own Kindle. Thing is, she's borrowed mine from time to time and has put books on it. She now wants me to transfer her books to her Kindle when she gets it.

Is there an easy way to do this? I can see when I plug it into the computer that the books are in the documents folder, is it simply just a case of copying those files over?

yes basically. or you can copy them on to your lappy and transfer them back off, or alternatively if they're bought from amazon you can register her kindle to your account she can then just re download them from amazon, the beauty of that is that if you do buy books you both want to read they can be downloaded to both from the archive

That's great, thanks. I assume it has to be all 5 files for each book then.

I did suggest sharing the account but she has her own Amazon account anyway so it would probably be less messy.

register both kindles to both accounts, that way you can share from the archive of each, and yes all five files, although its just the mobi one that you need for reading

Oh, right. Didn't realise you could do that.

i think you can have up to 3 on, i have mine, DOH and my iphone:)

Her Kindle arrived today(It's the new ultra light one that launched today). It looks tiny compared to mine!

Doesn't appear you can link it to 2 accounts though. I've googled it and everywhere says only one account per kindle.

well i have 2 kindles and my i phone on 1 account, and all the books i have bought can be delivered to both:thinking: i know we both had the lady in black on at the same time and we only bought it once, or do it the other way like we said

yes but you can register as many devices to the same account as you want, but not one device to more then one account as far as I know.

Yes, 2 kindles on 1 account but it's one Kindle on 2 accounts that's the problems. ie, she can't register her Kindle to my account but also have it registered to her own account at the same time.

Yeah, I'll just move the files across, would just have been handy to do it the other way although I can see why they might not want people to.
