Kindle owners - is it worth getting one ?

Is that not a PITA if your are reading the same book?

We tend not to - not at the same time. If it became an issue I'd just turn off syncing.

While looking at joining my wife's account with mine to allow content 'sharing', I came across this functionality which means you can share your books while keeping separate accounts and separate 'furthest page read' and annotations / highlights.

I liked the classic kindle, so i bought a couple of kindle fires for my girls 2 years ago and boy were we disappointed.

Performance = rubbish
Battery life = rubbish.

They're dumped in the garage now.

Well, 24 hours in to me owning a kindle fire hdx I can say that I agree about battery life - it isn't anything like as good as I had expected..
Also, as my wife and one daughter both have kindles of various sorts, and all linked to my Amazon account I am not sure I want all our stuff on one account - my 11 year old has loads of tosh on 'my' cloud account (mainly free games or books) and if I download anything she and my wife can see it and maybe download it to their devices.
I know this is down to me sorting out our accounts but it hadn't crossed my mind before I bought it...

I have Kindle fire and it lasts days watching movies internet. Never been a prob. charge it twice a week and use it most days. Watching box sets off Netflix mainly.
