Kindle fire HD vs HDX?

Hey guys a few yra bk I brought my wife a kindle (one with no keyboard or bk light), we were talking bout iPads ect but as we payed out on a really good pc for her work/Lightroom for me & we have iPhones for quick checks online ect there was no need. But she has just said that shed like the new kindle fire, but now there's a HD and a HDX?! Don't want it to be too outdated so what's the diff and should I go for the HD or push to the HDX?

HDX = faster processor, better resolution screen, larger screen, more memory, front facing camera.
