Im not sure if this is a particularly 'new' fad, but I am pretty amazed at the moment, at the sheer number of kids toys I see advertised that (amongst other things) either poo, wee or both.

There is a toy shaped like a dog that you move its tail up and down and the person that makes it poo loses the game. There is another one where you have to pull snot out of plastic head, where there loser is the person who makes the brain explode. Then there are the dolls that wee and you have to change nappies. I think its a doll from the Lalaloopsy :)rolleyes:) range that poos magic charms when you press its belly button, and on the box in big letters it reads "I magically poop charms"....how lovely.

My wife and I have been looking at toys to get our Daughter for Christmas this year, and although these toys may well be entertaining for the little'uns, you never see adverts for the educational/developmental type toys, its all about p*** and s***! :D

I was thinking more Scalextric to be honest, but I dont think I would get it past the Missus :D

pah, I had a train set and pestered my parents for scalextric too, but they said I had a enough corgi cars to satisfy any motoring ambitions I had. Didn't have anything that pee'd or poo'd though oddly enough. Even the Tiny Tears doll I got when I was about 4 [a black skinned one btw, because all the other girls had white skinned ones, and I was always given to be a bit 'different' as a child. Awaits the jokes... :rolleyes:] only had the ability to open and close her eyes. :LOL:

Yeah, the openning and closing eyes thing I completely understand, but one that ive seen an advert for recently shows a little girl pinching the arm of the doll to show that it can cry also. Im sorry, but that is messed up! Why would you encourage a child to do that?!?

Get her a cardboard box and some bubble wrap. ..and yourselves a nice bottle of Laphroaig or two.

Lol sounds like a plan, although, I didnt mean we would be buying her that stuff, as she is too young anyway (as youve pointed out). Its just that I keep seeing the adverts for them, and keep seeing them in the shops. No, we will just be buying her baby stuff...and things :)
 
Get her a really really good teddybear.
I still have one bought for me when I was christened...a Steiff bear. Means the world to me and has held up really well because of how well they're made.
Every child should have a best bud bear. :-)
 
With having kids of my own now I can tell the difference between toys made now and when I was a kid, I'm only 26 so probably still a kid to some. My two boys (3yrs and 4yrs) still play with old toys of mine. Lego, Hotwheels cars (and the ones that changed colour, and they still do!), Brio train sets and a Hornby train set that's the size of a pool table to name a few. My parents may as well be hoarders because visiting them is great fun for my kids and all my old toys/books.

Everything nowadays is just made on the cheap for an easy profit, and yes there's a load of sh*t games out there. That one where you pick the snot out the guys nose and his brain pops out is just crap as well.

That's not new - They (or some version of the same thing) were around when I was a kid.
But as for the rest :thinking:

That was my favourite toy!
Along with my wooden building bricks, which were also great for making tunnels / bridges etc to run the train tracks over.

EDIT : Just noticed Yv's post #5. Seems to have been a popular choice with the female mods :D

Bought one for my daughter years a go, she really loved it. Kept it when she moved out last year but will be out soon enough as she gave us our first grandson last year and a second is only 3/4 weeks away.
