Apparently Santa is bringing my 12 yr old grandson a new gaming pc for his Xmas (whatever happened to snakes & ladders :)) I've told my daughter wife and I would get him the keyboard and mouse for his gaming pc for his xmas. I'm prepared to spend up to £50.00 on a combo, not being a gamer can any gamers here recommend a decent gaming mouse/keyboard to compliment his new toy ?

Hi,

I would try and find out if he intends to game with mouse and keyboard or a controller if you have not already done so.

I have had the older version of this keyboard for about 5 years and works perfectly (amazon link HERE) its actually available for £34.99 on Box.co.uk HERE (amazon is £39.99) in terms of a mouse your probably looking the same again, I would recommend Madcatz maybe a rat 3 or 5, Logitech or razer (might be worth looking on amazing black Friday as they were cheap last week so may drop again).

Alternatively something like this mouse for £15 (Here) is perfectly fine (I have the same one I used as a spare when my gaming one broke and its fine), they also do a keyboard and mouse pack for £23 HERE which has really good reviews, however I believe the keyboard is US layout.

I asked about the pad as if he intends to game on a pad I would buy the cheaper mouse and a cheaper keyboard and buy an xbox pad and sender which is about £35 HERE or if he already has an xbox 360 he can use the pad and just buy a sender for about £15 - £20 (LINK).

Hope that helps.

Wow! They make my old keyboard mouse look positively boring I'll do some fishing to see what he would like. Thanks for the list, it''s been really helpful.

Overclockers.Co.uk

They have a great selection and good prices. Have used them many times.

Whatever brand keyboard you get, I recommend a mechanical keyboard. There is much better tactile feeling compared to membrane based ones

Quick heads up there is a mechanical keyboard and decent mouse coming up on the amazon lighting deals today, they are pretty expensive at the moment but might drop alot.

I would only bother with mechanical though if he intends to use keyboard and mouse rather than a pad.

They are well above budget but they might have a good discount.
