Hi All,

Its been a few years since I purchased a bunch of lenses from Kerso and was successful in getting the Canon Cashback.

Has anyone recently purchased stuff from him and been able to get the cash back ok?

Is there a list of stores that Canon publicise where you will be fine to buy from as some other manufacturers do?

Thanks in advance.

I have. I pointed out to Canon that I had paid uk Tax, sent in the receipt and they were happy to refund the cashback.

I bought a Speedlite 600 EX-RT off him a couple of years ago, and Canon initially rejected the cashback claim, saying it wasn't a UK stock item, but I pointed out it had a CE stamp and I had all the correct paperwork. They procrastinated for a while, and made me send in pictures of the flash and box but eventually paid up

From what I remember from a few years back I had to send a copy of the receipt with the the cash back claim. That was about it. I am pretty sure he provides a vat receipt.

The current Canon promotion specifically excludes parallel import/grey stock so probably not a good idea to bank on it being paid.

3: Products bought on ebay or through Amazon Marketplace (3rd party) resellers, products purchased from a retailer or e-tailer based outside of the UK or Ireland. Products purchased directly from Amazon (not via 3rd party resellers) are eligible.
4: Products bought from Dixons’ Travel stores are not eligible for this promotion.
5: Second-hand, refurbished or reconditioned products, or products which are counterfeit or infringe the intellectual property rights of the Canon group of companies in anyway (for example, including but not limited to parallel or “grey” import products).

Currently a number of retailers are importing genuine Canon goods from outside the European market, (which encompasses the European Economic Area (EEA) plus Switzerland) for sale to UK and European consumers. Such products are known as “grey market” or “parallel-import” products.

UNFORTUNATELY, CASHBACK AND OTHER PROMOTIONS ARE NOT VALID ON THOSE PRODUCTS NOT INTENDED FOR THE EUROPEAN MARKET.

This. Basically you may well get lucky but you're not strictly entitled to it so, if Canon get picky and say no, it's tough. Go into it with that knowledge and your eyes open and you'll be fine.

I've always managed to claim for everything I've bought from Kerso but haven't for a couple of years now. I basically worked on the premise that his prices were good enough that, even if I didn't get the cashback, I'd still have a good deal :)
