Hi guys

Looking to get this set. Pictures using them and experiences very much appreciated. I will be using Sigma 105mm with them.

Thanks in advance

Sarah

Mine arrived on Friday night. I ordered some from HK earlier in the week and they arrived in record time, unlike the no brand ones from Poland these worked with my EF/EF-S lens without any issues. Personally I am using them to increase magnification for the Macrophotography that I do. Some light is lost as to be expected, so I use live mode with 5/10x zoom on for focusing and use an external Di622 flash for lighting until I can pluck up the courage to spend out on a proper macro flash with a MP-E 65mm.

DCR-250 and DCR-150 are also other filters to consider if looking to zoom in with telephoto lenes.

Build quality is ok, but not up to Nikon / Canon quality. AF works well which is potentially an advantage depending on what you’re shooting.

For macro the full stack gives a very thin sliver of DOF which is of limited value unless you're into stacking.

Shop around the price varies considerably ;)

It can take a bit of time to learn how to get the best from an extension tube and to figure out which tube pairs up with each of your lenses, but once you're comfortable with using them you can get some great results.

I find the 36mm tube fitted to my 70-200 is the most versatile combo.
With a dedicated macro prime you'll be able to get unbelievably close, although you'll lose the ability to focus using a zoom ring so instead you'll have to focus by altering the camera to subject distance (which makes using a tripod a bit too much hassle).

A few examples:

Hover Fly
