I have recently bought a kenko 1.5 teleconverter for my pentax k10d, 1 problem i have is when i put it on any of my lenses and turn the lens to manual focus it feels a bit rough to turn, dont know if this is going to damage my lenses or not, has anyone had this problem or is this normal does not feel like to me.

A TC has no connection with the focusing mechanism

They often don't actually fit some lenses, as the rear of the lens, which moves, fouls them. What lenses are you using it with? Are you sure this isn't happening?

If this only happens when the TC is connected to the lens then something is very wrong and the risk of doing damage has to be high.

I'm using a tamron 70-300mm lens and it does the same thing on my tamron 90mm macro works fine on auto focus but when you just screw the converter to the lens it just feels like something is not right

Assuming the tc provides a feed-through screw drive for autofocus, maybe it's staying engaged when you switch the lens to manual?

You should be able to see if this is happening by mounting the lens onto the tc (but not onto the camera body) and turning the focus ring on the lens whilst watching the screw drive on the tc.

HTH :help:

Sorry, I completely missed the Pentax bit. Apologies, my bad :nono:
