You might have got hold of the wrong end of my stick. It's not that he's using a "bad" word, it's that he's using a good word incorrectly.

Who is Ken Rockwell? I keep on seeing his name pop up throughout many photography sites, and the majority of the articles/forums that I have read do not portray him as an exceptional photographer, rather the contrary.

He's a bloke who writes a partly tongue in cheek, intentionally 'controversial' blog. Has a lot of followers. Some of them for some reason take him seriously, which can lead to odd discussions on forums. :thumbs:

I think you'd have to be forty and still living with your mum to take any offence at that.
 
The reason Ken Rockwell appears to own google with several keywords making him numero uno on page one is because a lot of people seem to take offence at him and then give him all the google loving linkback juice he can get.

And he is drowning in it.
 
I thought his headline was been reference to a novel sales incentive.

I don't get it, his phrase makes no sense, it would make grammatical sense if "off" was put as the middle word, but then that would make no sense re the price rise situation.

I think "screws" is a fair more appropriate word.

Exactly! That was was thinking and what the original past title referred to.

Ken's a Marmite man but I'm a fan. Yes, his opinions are complete rubbish sometimes but his site is packed with very helpful info which is one of the main reasons he scores so highly with google.

I don't think it's as much "****" as people like to make out. Most of the time it seems to me to be a severe case of "disagree-itis" where people get their backs up about the fact that he has controversial views and actually has the balls to come out with it and be humorous. Lots of people (particularly in this field it seems) don't like that and so get all arsey about anything he has to say.

Exactly. He could be the world's biggest troll for all we know, but he sure is earning a pretty penny from it. I quite enjoy reading what he has to say.

He's obviously trolling with some of his comments, but his site is good for some info and reviews. There's a youtube video of him at B&H in New York, he knows his cameras.
 
I think he even said on his site take what he writes with a good pinch of salt. The more he trolls the more hits he gets and the more people might click his Adorama links etc. His Leica Man page is good for a laugh.
 
When Ken Rockwell goes for a swim, he doesn't get wet. The water gets Ken.

I personally love how angry his detractors get, and the vitriol-filled posts discarding an entire article because he got the apostrophe in the wrong place on one word.

It doesn't make a lot of sense, but use of the word "off" would indicate a enjoyable ending.

The way he has written it is that it's just an ongoing one with no enjoyable ending. I suppose it would just blister and wear away, which now makes it sound more like something Nikon would do :p

Settings - General - About - Version

I'm on 5.0.1 on my iPhone and 5.1 on iPad. Both can find the app in the app store.

I type into search box there, is there another way you do it?

You need to be searching in "App Store" not "iTunes" on the phone.

Which is why I am sitting here with my D4 and not my 1Dx (plus I think given I am sitting here with a D4 and he is not says everything about Ken Rockwell's standing in the photographic community)
