A true showbiz legend and a very funny man. RIP

Definitely a legend. My wife and I saw him at the London Palladium in July 1965 - seems like yesterday!!!

Very clever and funny man RIP :(

One of my favourite Ken Dodd jokes:

"The man who invented cats' eyes got the idea when he saw the eyes of a cat in his headlights. If the cat had been going the other way, he would have invented the pencil sharpener."

R.I.P.

Not everyoens cup of tea but I would defy anyone not to laugh out loud watching "An Audience with Ken Dodd" .. Bound to be back on telly soon then.. A must watch.. seriously funny for all ages..

A sad loss ,he was a true entertainer. I saw his live shows a few times and you really got, your money’s worth ..on stage for several hours and not one swear word in his performances ..a great comedian.

What a beautiful day for sticking a cucumber through someone's letterbox and shouting, “Help, help, the Martians have landed!
Or
5 out of every 3 people have trouble understanding fractions.

RIP Ken

One of the greats. RIP Ken.

Hearing of the death of some people seems to make the world a slightly darker place, to me Ken Dodd is one of those people.

Apparently we got away lightly, we had a 4 hour show in blackpool once. Apparently he did a 7 hour show the next week
Saw the news item a couple of weeks ago when he was in a wheelchair, he looked very frail.

He was a comedy legend, an original. It was good to see the show's about him last year celebrating his 90th Birthday, looking back at his life while he was still alive. Knighted too late for his achievements, but thankfully it transpires, just in time.

Some don't realise how big he was at his peak. He had a 42 week season at one of the largest venues in the country at the time, the London Palladium in the 60's. He also knocked The Beatles off the top of the charts and stayed at #1 for five weeks.

I can't say I was a big fan, but I wish I would have seen one of his shows just to get my money's worth. ;) When a Comedian keeps selling out shows for that many years, they must have been doing something right.

RIP

I never liked the Diddy Men but thought Ken himself was a legend.

He had the last laugh on the inland revenue, getting married two days before he died so his widow wouldn't have to pay £2m in inheritance tax.
