The TP52 - 2026 Kell’s 52 for 26. Wk 12 - Daily Life

Lovely catch up set Kell. I particularly like the one with the Eye and reflection

Great catch-up Kell, I particularly like your looking through shot.

They're all good, I do particularly like the looking through shot. It's got great colours and light.

A lovely catch-up Kell. I especially like the Looking Through shot.

Thanks - I ummed and ahhed about using it as I had to shoot handheld and it's a bit soft, but I also liked the colours. It was drizzling that night, so the mist helped give everything a bit of a glow.

I've never really noticed the light above the clock face, I guess it's the starburst that makes it stand out.
I agree with your choice of shot. I tihnk the lights on Westmister Bridge add an extra element to the image.

Both suit the theme, agree with your choice with the extra starburst on the RHS building and the railings intrude on the first shot

Aye that works a treat!

Thanks all. I went with the second for a couple of reasons.

I've shot from a similar POV before on the first one, whereas it was my first time at the second location.

Plus, while the first is rainWATER it is just a puddle. The second one is more permanent water.

And also, I preferred it.

your turning into a London nighttime specialist Kell, super shot.

The sky it lovely and moody. I really like the colours, an the starbursts add a lot.

I prefer the Rokkor too, only the fact you cropped into the writing on the Minolta lens makes it less appealing.

Yes, I prefer the Rokkor version too. But I don't think it's to do with the writing, or the crop, I think the lighting across the lower half of the optic makes for a better composition.

Thanks both.

I think from a "collector" POV, lenses with ROKKOR on are a little more sought after. So maybe that swayed my decision.

I did also like that it included the big ding in it.

Rokkor for me as well, light on the lens is better and the Minolta has that white/worn bit on the LHS

Weirdly, I took some shots down there the other night )creature of habit and all that) and didn’t notice it.

Maybe it has some significance and is only on when something happens in parliament.

This may come as no surprise (especially to @LC2) but I went with a couple of shots of 'Big Ben'.

This is the shot I had in my head when I went - classic with a red bus in front - but I actually preferred the other one with Boadicea in the foreground.

Went with a square crop as there's a tut stand in front of it that I cropped out.

Love the red of the bus but not at that point with the tower growing out of it!

The chosen shot is better - but I want to see Boadicea too! Both nice shots for the theme :)

Thanks Dave.

I took a few with the bus but none of them really worked for me. No matter where the shot was the bus looked like a dodgem.

As for Boadicea, the widest I could go there was a 35 (no other lenses on me)

Never really considered a pano.

The crop works nicely. The gold of the tower against the blue of the sky is really nice.
