Does anyone own one of these and what is your opinion of it?

Thanks,

Yep I have one. To be honest if your just using it for car cleaning it's fine but for jobs such as patio/decking cleaning etc it could be more powerful. It will do the job but will take more time. I don't often use ours but think if I used it more I'd want something more powerful.

Hope that helps a bit!

Yep Ive got one, Use it mainly for car rinsing/blasting. Have used it with the patio cleaner thing on and seemed to do a good job on paving slabs, blasted all the algea stuff off. Another make worth looking at is Nilfisk.

That helps - and is in line with my thinking. I need something for paths, patio and also fence panels prior to repainting. I've been lucky in the past with a K2.19 which has just given up the ghost and is about the same power as the K2. The build quality of the K2 isn't as good as the K2.19 though. The next model up is more than twice the price.

Thanks,
AL

Thanks very much Keith.

I have one. It is good on paving slabs and other smooth hard surfaces. On rougher surfaces it is not so good and no good at getting rid of moss on rough tarmac, but for most of the jobs I have to do it is fine. If you have not already looked, check out the Karcher outlet shop for cheaper offers.

Agree with tonh a more powerful one would be quicker.

Mine is several years old and dying, but the point of my post is that I hope for newer generations of K2 they have put a proper water cooled motor in it like the higher models in the range. The old K2s were air cooled (not cooled) so didn't work well in extended use.

As has been said, depends on what you are wanting to use it for / how much you're going to use it...

Next door neighbour has had one that's on it's last legs and it's ancient, he tends to use sometimes at weekends for the car and general cleaning patios etc, so it's been brilliant for him...

If you are going to be using it a lot, then I would recommend upgrading to the K4 series, but it caries a price tag with it...

I have a K2, just over two years old and not had much use at all.
While it worked, it was pretty good, fine for cleaning the car and patio, though the standard hose is very short.

But I came to use it a couple of weeks back having been sat in the shed unused for the last ~10 months and it seems to have developed a crack somewhere. When you turn it on ir prays water out of the outer case around the switch. Not had a chance yet to strip it down but there seems to be plenty of videos on youtube showing similar problems.
After such little usage it certainly doesn't inspire me to replace it with one of their more expensive models in the range. Where as my dad's 15 year old stihl is still going strong.

Bought a K2 from Halfords this morning. Took it home, took it out of the box and put it straight back in. Changed it for the K4 Compact. The K2 seemed very flimsy compared to my old 2.19 and I know it wouldn't stand up to the sort of use I would give it.

Intriguing. Did you always unplug the hose, spray out the last of the water in the system, then unplug and switch off machine after use? Wonder if maybe ice formed on water left inside and caused it.

It's possible. I still have it, one day I will strip it down and have a proper look.

Gave it a bit of a workout this afternoon - very impressed so far.

Same thing happened with mine about 4 yrs ago.

Yep, (y) mine was stored in the garage over Winter & I'd forgotten to `blow out` the water after the last use & it froze. :( Took it into our local Karcher centre for repair. (lesson learned  )

I've had two in 10 years and found them very good. And they have had hard use. Just bought my third one

Agree with this also.

Mine is great for the car but its a little underpowered for getting the patio clean.
