slightly off topic, but are the DM allowed to nick pics off facebook like that?? I'm not completely convinced they have nicked pics of the right bloke either.. doesnt look like the same guy.

I dont know if they are allowed to use them but the pics do look the same due to the piercings

Unlikely as it was in self defence as Mc Calium went for him with a knife.

And this quote from the Court Recorder: 'The jury might well have concluded you got what you deserved when you entered that property and took a swipe at him with that weapon'.

If he tried to bring a case of GBH or ABH I think it would be dismissed.

I'd put money on the papers being able to licence copy from Facebook themselves...

Personally i think this is a victory for the average Jo, although Mr Corti wasnt your average Jo :lol: The dudes face is a mess. I have seen less damage from 20-something year olds fighting.

You missed the other relevant bit. The privacy and application settings are applicable to who you share that information with on Facebook.

Also, the fact that the Daily Scum have put (c) Facebook on it, which is totally incorrect no matter what the Facebook license says ;) just shows to me that they have lifted it from Facebook without proper authorisation.
 
Great ending; only sad bit is that within time the damage on Mr. McCalium's face will heal .. leaving no permanent reminder of what happened.
 
but if he had done much more damage he may have been deemed to overdo it and charged for gbh??
 
Fantastic news, I love stories like this! Reminds me of when my then 82 year old gran caught some bloke (estimated in his early 20's) in her house, he tried to intimidate her so she hit him over the head :bonk: with her watering can which she was just bringing in from the back garden and chased him out the house. Police were called but he was never caught.
 
i remember years ago when i was into martial arts.
a tiny little (5 ft max) lass from our club caught two yobs in their late teens trying to break into her car , outside her house.
when challenged, one of them threw a brick at her, cutting her head.
when the cops turned up half an hour later, they were sitting by the fence.

they both had broken noses,cut faces, several broken fingers, and fat lips.
the cops were pi**ng themselves laughing when one of the yobs asked for her to be charged with assault.
we called her "pitbull " (when she wasnt listening.)
she passed her black belt two weeks later.:D

Reminded me of this incident when a guy decides to slap a girl as she walks past, they weren't banking on her boyfriend though.:D
