Just won this. OK for my 400d?

It's a Vivitar 3500. It depends on the trigger voltage.

This site lists the voltage of many flashes:

http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html

What is the safe voltage for a 400D? botzilla shows the 3500 trigger voltage is around 7v so should be safe if the 400d safe voltage is under 12volts.

Do you have a meter? You can check the trigger voltage of the flash if you do.

heres the image if people struggled with the link

MHUK - I dont have a meter no

think i fixed the link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220548207223?

some people may know specifically for that model, but I would say you need to measure the voltage of the hotshoe (easily done wiht a multimeter), Ive seen the same model flashes with different voltages one very safe, one very not (infact the one I am thinking of was a very similar model to that). you should be fine using it on an optical trigger.

edit, man I'm slow. do you know anyone with a multimeter, or where abouts are you someone local may be able to help.
