Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello.

I'm Rob, middle aged currently going through a period of reinvention!

I've returned to photography after many years and now need to educate myself in all things digital. To be honest I was anti digital for many years but now realise I was depriving myself!
Back in the day my first camera was a Praktica TL 1000 super which taught me the basics. I progressed onto a Nikon F50 and numerous lenses then sold it to buy nappies for the kids (hard times).
In the early days of digital I was in the "it's not proper photography" camp so never made the transition. Needless to say life has moved on and I've invested in a Nikon D3100 with standard lens to teach myself the ropes.
My back story and ambitions are much more interesting but we'll leave that for another day, so for now "Hello" and I look forward to participating and hopefully being of some value to the forum.

I will certainly contribute some images down the road. I'm engrossed at the moment with the depth of useful information around the forums. Without sounding too soppy I feel like I've come home or a kid in a sweet shop!!

Hi Rob welcome to the Fray!

I did that spent many a happy years rebuilding and restoring Old British Motorbikes, was great fun until someone wiped me out and later on snapped my achillies..
I decided to revert back to a former hobby where im less likely to kill myself! (photography).
You will have great fun here a very active forum thats great and you ALWAYS get an answer....
Critque is very useful, and every one is very helpful.

Will be good to see you around the place

Thanks everyone, looking forward to submitting a few images for critique. Forum is brilliant but I'm running the risk of information overload so need to focus my interest.
