Yes
I bought some grey armour for my 400D and pretty much have had it on since I got it. I just took it off to give it a clean under the LCD protector and oh my god it looks and feels odd. Like a brand new camera but yet so small in my hands.

I want to leave the armour off but I guess I shouldnt, I'll get a grip soon though, has anyone used the grip plus armour before?

Why do you need armour? Are you working in a war zone? Leave it off and just take care of it.

I never understand why some cameras/glass look like they have being tied to the back of a car and dragged up a dirt track. OK, you will pick up small scratches along the away, but don't use armour and just take care of it (unless you are actually in a war zone).

(Speaking as someone who has taken cameras worldwide since the late 1980's, including working in news).

[S4]This thread is worthless without pictures![/S4]

Show us it with the armour on!

The camera feels bigger with the armour and then when i go to sell it I'll get more money as it will look like new.

Actually it doesnt look as silly as I thought it would.... in fact.......not a bad idea!! ;) And as a habitual clumsy camera and lens dropper... it may be good. At least it would give me more of a chance when I drop it. Would it work with a battery grip attached do you think?

About two thirds down the page is armour for grips.

I guess it would protect something like a 400D with a polycarbonate body but not convinced it'd have much impact (sorry!) on something with a magnesium alloy chasis

It kinda fit arouns the bottom of the camera but leaves a space so you could maybe cut the edges so the grip fits

I agree, Janice and I could have done with that the other week when I fell arse over tit
.................. bruised leg gashed arm :(
but most importantly the camera was ok
Its worth thinking about

Thought the same with various cases and armours for devices over the past few years. What I've found in practice is that a little bit piece of grit or sand etc will get under the armour and scratch the hell out of it without you noticing :(

My iPhone is a right mess after using a silicon case on it :(

he has a point, i brought something like that for my phone took it off to find grit had scratch it and all in the ear piece to.

^^
Same here with an ipod, the silicon case again made a right mess with the dust/grit that gets between.

seems fine after 4 months of use, maybe i'll leave it off when/if I get a grip. I just keep thinking, if im going to spend £60 on a grip, why not just save that and put it towards a fund for a 40D or 5D...

or a big expensive lens?
