I'm really into my photography now, doing a degree course at the moment where we're trying out all sorts of medias, genres etc. I'm finding i'm getting into my portrait stuff, which is a change from the landscapes I used to do. I own a 400D camera which I find is more than enough, although my tripod broke recently (was only cheap). So I invested in some new equipment. Through the recommendations here I have bought a redsnapper tripod with tilthead, as well as a BG-E3 grip (i'm a bit worried because I have the silver model, which I thought was cool at the time but now I regret). Hopefully it won't look too strange.
I must admit I get really confused with lenses, I have the kit lens and have just bought the cheap 50mm Canon lens, which I hear is great. I used a 50mm sigma lens on a Nikon at uni and got some great, really sharp results, so i'm hoping this will be good too.
Does anyone have any other things to recommend, equipment-wise? I have my own site too which isn't updated too often, and it's only a simple flash site, but let me know what you think - www. johndurant .co.uk (seperated on purpose as I don't want any spam
