It won't be everyone's cup of tea but it certainly is different!

Here's the cheapskate version I invented a year ago. Start a blank document on your PC, stick the negs to the screen with tape, take the pic with your phone, get the image into Gimp somehow and invert colours

Works fine - this is from an exposed film from the 1960s in a camera given to me. I don't have a scanner that does 120 so this was the best I could come up with!

Another overpriced sub-par product from the team at Lomography!

Yeah, I'm usually pretty sceptical of anything from Lomography myself; however, I did buy their Digitaliza 120 film holder to use with my Epson 4490 scanner and it actually works really well.

Well, the advantage of this over the other "camera in a box" scanners could be a degree of openness in the app. Imagine something vaguely along the lines of a cut-down Vuescan, with some understanding of the colour cast issues and some control over other colour and contrast tweaking. Could be interesting. Oh, I don't have a smartphone! D'oh.

I read about this a few weeks ago.

It's a great idea. Although it's not something I'd personally use, it's pretty good for those taking photos of friends etc to share on facebook or whatever where they don't require the highest quality scans because it'll all be lost when they upload anyway.

I've said countless times that Lomography is a good thing for the film industry, no matter how cynical you may be about it, you can't deny their marketing strategies have helped keep film alive and made it accessible to a lot more people.

If wasn't the same price as as the cheap film scanners i'd probably be more enthusiastic. But given its just a light box with an iPhone support its a little on the dear side...

I shall consider that professional endorsement!

LOL....far from professional Charlotte but it works to a point though not as good as scanning.

I'm actually going to have a play around at passing a LF neg through the scanner a couple of times from each end then seeing if i can get a decent result by stitching the two scans together in Photoshop (or similar)...

I agree completely, but at the same time... they sell Zenits for £145... :cuckoo:

If people are willing to pay that though, you can't knock the company, only the consumer ;)

The lomo store in manchester shut down the other week, I picked up a fisheye at 50% discount... Wish I'd bought more stuff now as everything was reduced, could have made a fair whack on eBay, the lomo crowd don't seem to mind paying a premium it seems.

I could have picked up an action sampler for £3, wasn't interested so left it but then i though i could sell it on however it was gone the next day!

LC-A Wide is £329!! It hurts.

Zenit E for £145 is a classic i think.

But yeah, whatever they're getting people into film :D

You can buy them for less than £10 on eBay i think

ahh thats not such a good deal then, lomography sells them for £49 on their page.

Woah! quite an increase.

Crazy the prices people are willing to pay for the lomo brand. Fair play to the company though if people are going to line their pockets
