I think I might have asked this question *before* making the purchase!

To answer your question though... I think it will serve you well.

Anthony.

haha,

Does it work well with LR3? It looks like it only works with DNG not Raw?

Thanks

I've had one for a few months now Matt and I think its indispensable if you want to take colour management seriously. The software it comes with is pretty informative and shows how to use the thing to create DNG profiles etc. I chose it at the beginning of my colour accuracy learning curve and wouldn't be without it now. I also bought a Spyder cube at the time but don't use it as the passport does everything. The only thing the Spyder cube has is a chrome ball on it which illustrates catch lights etc, I nicked that idea and use a plastic chrome Christmas tree bauble along with the passport in test shots. It's also cheaper than the Datacolur equivalent which I actually would have gone for had it been available at the time as it has a tripod connection, which has to be handy. Calibrated screens and these gizmos are a must in my opinion.

Thanks for the info steve.

My monitor is calibrated with Spyder2Pro I use CS5 and LR3 both with SRGB however seem to get red skin tones, over saturated grass etc

I'm hoping this will at least help....

I have since been on the X-Rite site and seen the Demos, looks good.

It's ideal for portrait shoots, indoors at a studio or outdoors on location, but for events (mostly weddings) no so, as lighting conditions can be too unpredictable.

You can also create calibration presets in LR3 for your camera(s) based on a lighting type (daylight, tungsten etc.), which are useful for general photography.
