Just ordered a Canon EF 1200mm F5.6 L USM with the wife's approval :D is she trying to hide something :suspect:

Only kidding, just the first time I've ever seen a lens like this listed anywhere, I love the 'add to basket', wonder if they'd take the house in part exchange.

Added it to my basket and it said : Canon's most powerful supertelephoto lens. Prices may vary due to the unique nature of this lens. Delivery times on this lens also fluctuate as they are made to order.

I wonder if they've actually sold any and if Canon have even made many.

I know of one that was sold to a guy in Saudi via a UK Pro dealer.

I think there are more than 12 worldwide but not that many
 
Sports Illustrated own 2,the guy that started Oakley has one, Canon Pro Services have 1 or 2 as well, we had this dicsussion a while back and i think the numbers were about 12 wont be far off even if not 100% accurate

How does it compare to the Sigma 400-1000/5.6 (the 200-500/2.8 with included 2x convertor) though?

they should stick it on a 2x TC 2400 mm would be decent :)

and bend light round the curve of the earth.......:thinking: :razz: would be good for looking at the sapce station tho haha
 
The BBC use them for filming wildlife.
They had one on the snow leapard documentary.
