It's ordered a non retina mbp 15" base model with hi res AG screen.

Big kid waiting for Santa to deliver springs to mind.

This will be my first mac so mega excited.

Any program's I should add that are recommended?

Will be uppin the ram to 16gb once I've got it as I believe it's cheaper to do yourself, plus getting hold of a spyder 4 elite to calibrate.

Also, take a look at www.myfirstmac.com - good advice on there for the new to Mac peeps.

Have you got LR or PS? If so, you'll need to de-activate on your Windows PC and install on the Mac and activate.
 
PS Good move re the RAM - are you getting it from Crucial?

LR is licenced for both platforms and you don't need to deactivate before a new install.

PS you need to phone adobe and get them to send you a mac version instead, which they'll do for about £5
