Just ordered a 5d mkiii

I'm waiting on mine....I was a little nervous after doing the transfer last night, but I now have a tracking number I feel a bit more reassured.

Anybody know how long it takes from FexEx collecting it in HK to it arriving at the doorstep in the UK?

If you got tracking number today, I'd guess it'll be on your doorstep on Monday.
 
yeah, I'm thinking Monday too. It's gonna be a long weekend :-(
 
Is the 5D3 still £1895 via bank transfer? I know I could e-mail Tina to find out but given I'm not planning on buying just yet I thought I would check here first rather than unnecessarily troubling her. I see that HDEW knocked £40 off their price in the last few days and digitalrev made a futher £10 discount - I wonder if a further price drop is around the corner?

The price quoted to me was £1865 yesterday with Panamoz.
 
Just found out Panamoz are now doing the 5D Mark ii for £1100 - tough decision!

Even if my main interest is portraiture / general travel photography? I've been weighing up the two for a while and not sure if I need the advanced AF system - or whether, for my interests, it's worth a further £765. Did you own the 5D2 before the 5D3? If so I'd be keen to hear more from you! :)

If you don't need the AF system of the 5D3, then the 5D2 will be absolutely fine for you ;) ...but get in quick before they're all gone ;)

As far as I am aware the 5DMK2 is not being phased out as it currently is running alongside the MK3, unless you have heard otherwise?.

Erm, where in my post did I say it was being "phased out" :thinking:

Oh, that's right, I didn't! :nono:

I was simply implying that due to the price drops, there may well be higher than average demand, so they might be flying off the shelves. :shrug:

It's arrived...ordered Wed PM...arrived at about 11:00AM today (Friday). All fine w/ free screen protector. I'm a happy bunny. :) :) :)
