looks good, you shouldnt have to submit it to search engines, the robots will be all over it within a week or so. They may struggle to read the flash though so make sure theres plenty of keywords in the coding
 
I like it a lot. Looks nice and clean and easy to navigate. As already mentioned, make sure there is enough html links/words for the bots, though I read somewhere that googlebots can now read flash, but I would still prefer the fail safe html options too.

The front page has a couple of niggles First one is the the text goes from talking about 'we' to 'me' and 'I' which doesn't really sit well, it needs some form of seperation or keep the text all in the same context. I would add the sentence 'We work with numerous designers, developers and studios to deliver our high standard of work nationwide' to the first paragraph, then keep the directors blurb to the second. That would also remove the 2nd niggle, there is no space after Nationwde. My typing is appalling but on a business website, small typos can be the difference between professional and a mere wannabe, if you get my drift. ;) HTH

Thanks I will add keywords to the flash, Its already been crawled as I looked on the server logs, I have done its meta tags now

Apart from someone figuring out the telephone number prefix... theres nothing on site that says what country the company is in... anyone finding the site on the www isnt going to know if your in england, australia or outer mongolia :)
 
It looks like a nice piece of work to me; it's simple and easy to navigate. I would have had one more full stop and one more comma in the Home Page text, but that's me. Well done.

Mr Picky again ;)

I would break up the paragraph of text on the home page somewhat. The sentences are effectively bullet points but at the moment they masquerade as prose. There needs to be some indication of where exactly 01274 is. What if I want a granite worktop in 01305? Should I call them or is it too far away? I don't know.

The other thing is the text font on the contact page need changing from bold serif to something that matches the menu. Something I learnt from an old typesetter/layout artist "Use one font. Use two if your life depends on it, three only if the world is about to end" holds true for screen as well as print IMHO.

In the gallery (when browsing with FF3) there appears to be a light grey/white box in the top left of the gallery frame... what does it do? apart from be a white box with a couple of bits of information in it, which would look better presented somewhat differently.

Like I said at the start a well laid out site; apply the finishing touches and it will be on the money.

On all pages the copyright sign appears as a ? on my screen.

On the samples page the text at the bottom is blurred some letters are darker than others.

In Gallery when you click on kitchens one and two the mostly empty grey box looks like something may be missing ?

Other than those I didn't notice anything else at first looks.

As already said is easy to navigate, non cluttered :thumbs:

Hi Ben I dont mind you being picky thats why I posted it, as said the text isnt mine, Ryan wrote it, all the text is Verdana or arial, apart from the text on the banner, ****in the gallery the greyish box is for Ryan to do a little write up about each photo, and Im unsure how much space he needs, as to be honest I know nothing about granite worktops

the copyright symbol disappeared and was replaced with? for some reason, I'll change it

On the samples page the text does seem blurred maybe I used a pixel font in swishmax and I'll sort the colour differences out,thanks,

Nope :)

I could be wrong but I think your css (either style.cs or the inline stuff for the contact page) doesn't define the font for class c1 - so both at home and at work on both IE7 and on FF, the font in the contacts form is definitely a serif font (browser default).

I would have posted the code but for some reason the daft BBS software used by TBB doesn't like close curly brackets and messes everything up :(

Looks good - but two small things - the spacing on the menu items is not equal - and there is no submit button on the form.
 
Dave, submit button is there ok - but horizontal spacing in the menu still looks uneven.
 
Google likes lots of text to search through. There isn't much. Suggest adding a few pages such as a FAQ or interesting facts about granite - what it is, where it comes from and stuff like that.

Andrew thats a good idea, Ryan does want a page were he can put customer comments on so we will be building it up more over the next few days :thumbs:

Great looking website :thumbs:

Contact page has Email twice one with and one without link.

Saw a few too many different fonts.

BTW, what s/w did you use to make the site?
 
I think the accepted minimum for a website is to optimise it for a 1024 pixel wide screen. Many people use a screen resolution higher than this, and you're wasting a lot of screen space which could be used better. You could then get away with increasing font size a click.
 
Thanks Andrew if I change every thing to % that would do for any screen res, the prob then would be the banner, suppose I could make it sort of bleed out on the right and use a BG image of a graduated shade if you know what I mean
 
I know what you mean - don't know if you know what I mean - it's the spacing between the words on the menu - not equal!!
I think brown/blue works very well - and a lot of people still have a 800 x 600 screen so I think your sizes are just fine!
 
Just LOOK at the page - the spacing BETWEEN THE WORDS is not EQUAL - THE WORDS (buttons) are 77px.....if you don't see it - maybe it doesn't matter but it niggles me!

I'ce checked it in FF and IE7
 
ah I see just centre them that would do it MMMM would it I'll give it a go tomoz as their between 4 and 7 would appear less off set any way
 
your horizontal spacing on the menu buttons is different and a bit annoying

On that point I would also advise against using off the peg templates....very much a no no...

Using off the peg templates and passing them off as your own work....an even bigger no no.
