Due to a change in job / work opertunaties I have had to change how I do things and part of this was new storage / workflow stratagies. and as part of this I have just taken delivery of a new Apple Xserve all i can say is WOW. :woot::woot:

7x400GB Apple Drive Modules with 7xSpare bays
2x128MB RAID Controller Cache
Redundant power & cooling
Dual RAID controllers
Remote management & monitoring

This will sort out all my storage needs for the next few years.

Business same as now - Photography, just needed to restructure it a little, as I will be supplying digital workflow solutions and services to more people.

Pics will be on tomorrow.

I will be using it to store my ever growing collection of pics for the forthcomming year and also clients photos that i have for PP and workflow for thier desired needs, I need very fast file transfer and access and redundancy / raid to keep the working files safe untill they have been processed and returned to clients.

I have a very busy year for Surf photography with a new client so i need to get all my stuff sorted and at hand easily.

All this with a full time (3days a week college course)

should be a busy year
