Hi today I am a happy bunny. Received my new Canon 70-200 f4 yesterday. Today got a bit of late sun and went with my son to a local quarry with his trials bike and took a couple hundred shots with my 30d nearly all at f4, shutter speeds varied from 600 to 1000 and I am amazed at the results. I did try a few at at a smaller aperture and I can see little difference but of course this is not a perfect test. f4 blurs the background and makes the bike stand out anyway.

Having only just gone digital and finally sold off/given away all my lovely Nikon 35mm kit I am overjoyed that I can match the results I got. Lots more playing to do yet but I am sure I won't be dissapointed.

I am on dial up with a steam driven computer and posting photos is difficult soI cant share them with you, perhaps later when I find something else to sell.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the new lens (even more happy to hear you moved away from Nikon  :D)! Be careful though, L lenses pave the way to financial ruin!.........

Chris

Nice one Dunks, enjoy your new toy, they are fab lenses.
Dean:)

Hi Chris I see where you are coming from but my mk1 nifty fifty knocks spots off the 200. Never seen a lens like it.--- Yes I have, I once owned a Nikkor 135 2.8 manual focus which was amazing. got talked into selling it to the chap who took photos for the National trust. Fool that I was.

wish I'd never sold mine, lovely lens that, enjoy :)

Fab lens, enjoy! :)

Agree with the others, 'L'itis is not good for the wallet/purse

i know what you mean about L lenses i have a 24-105 and now i am trying to stop my self going down nott's today and getting a 70-200 f2.8 is...

Enjoy the L - it's a fine lens!

Had the 70-200 f/4 sold it on here last week and now have the 70-200 f/2.8 IS.......resitance to the mighty "L" is futile.................lol
