A nice one of a hoverfly next to a flower head. is there any way i can recover it? i did it in-camera. i'm not holding my breath on this one

think Elvis has left the building on this one mate :(

have you touched the card since, you could try somehting like recuva to see if its still there, but if you;ve written anything else to the card after you;ve deleted it you may not be lucky, but its worth a shot!

there's definitely a way to recover it (done it before).
Just don't use the card until you use recovery software!

As long as you have not used the card again, there are software recovery programs that should be able to recover it.
Sandisk include recovery software with extreme cards I will try to find it for you.

As long as you haven't shot on the card since deleting your image this software will have a very good chance of recovering your treasured image.

However, if you have written other images to the card since, your chances of success are VERY much slimmer.

I've used Pandora recovery successfully in the past.

I recently used a program called stellar recovery to recover 180 gb of photos from a net book hard drive. It cost me £30 but worked a treat. It will also work on cf cards etc.
You can try the demo and it will show you what is recoverable. As long as you haven't filled up the card again there's still a chance it will be there.Whatever you do don't write anything else to the card.

Cheers
Gary

You should of had a small disk/cd inside the packet that your card came in. This is a recovery software disk.

if the card is untouched you will be surprised at what it will recover for you. Best of luck

Ok pandora users i have found the file i'm after and recovered it to the desktop but UFraw will now not open it as it says it's an unrecognised file format. Pandora said this file was 0% overwritten, what to do next?

I have recovery software that came with a sandisk CF card.... Might be worth you getting one from somewhere for the software...

Or send the card to me and I'll aim to recover the file(s) via SanDisk RescuePRO...! PM me if you want me to give it a go

I'll add my support for recuva, worked for me the other day after I did the same thing

Bomberman has said that recuva didn't work, but that Pandora has at least extracted the file.
Bomberman, has the extracted file got the correct file extention? Could that be why UFraw doesn't like it?

Texy

Hi Texy, it comes up as a UFraw file which is my default raw converter but............ SUCCESS! PCinspector came up trumps and i now have my image back! Thanks to everyone but Graham wins for his suggestion  I'll post the image on here later :)
