Just bought a sony a500 for £295 brand new!

Noticed it earlier on hotukdeals currys and dixons had them in for this low price.Was looking at the new 600d but its over £750 :eek::eek: seen this deal today and i was all over it.Its getting delivered on monday really looking forward to getting it i had a d5000 at xmas but it died after 2 weeks.

i got a 4 gig sd card anything else i need to go with it?

have i got a good deal at the price?

Shame it doesn't take the CF cards from my A200.

Currys now says, sorry this product is unavailable, sounds like its a cockup like the Jessops 50mm 1.4 fiasco a couple of weeks ago. good luck mate, hope you get it.

I rang local store its not a price mistake they just getting discontinued !

saved myself a lot of dosh getting this,looking at all the reviews its a good un! some amazing images all over the web.

is this your first dslr? this will be my 2nd.

i looked at this and the a550 a year ago bu they were way out of my budget,so yes i researched them ages ago.

it would of been silly not to order as they sold out very quick,and if i spent all day looking at the reviews i would of missed it!

its a lot of bang for buck for the money we have paid nothing comes anywere near :thumbs:

Yes Gavin, in order to make it really special, you need to buy my 28 - 85 and 100 - 200 Minolta AF zoom lenses (fully compatible with your camera), which are advertised in the classifieds :lol:
Seriously, they would make you very happy, particularly when you compare their quality and price with Sony/Zeiss lenses.:)

I've not got a dleivery date email yet - getting worried I may not get the camera due to a lack of stock :-(
 
Hope you have better luck than i did when I ordered a Sigma 120-400 EOS fit from Currys at £499 (great price)

Long story but took my order over the phone with payment and sent a confirmation e-mail. 2 days later received an e-mail saying order was being processed, but 3 hours later another e-mail saying they had cancelled my order.

No longer in stock but it was when they took my order. Then to add insullt to injury they said the refund would take 3-5 days!

Wife called them to complain and the muppet on the other end said they could offer me an alternative, the NIKON version!

Hope you get your camera and have better luck than I did.:thumbsdown:
 
Well i'm not hopeful as the price has gone to £469 and they are back in stock,no doubt they will claim a price error the b******s

I used Currys, but its the same company.

"Dear ian,

Your order (CURxxxxxxxxxx) is on its way and will be delivered to you by DHL"
 
That's a fantastic price, I paid the same last July for my a450 from Comet.

Yes, got order confirmation with attached .pdf. then email with just the .pdf yesterday, then today got the shipping email.

I did call their order line this morning to check if it was progressing, as I didn;t have the shipping email, and they said it was fine. I don't know if that prompted something to happen, or if its a coincidence.
 
Great camera , I have one myself, they feel a little bit heavy due to the steady shot being on the camera. I love it and take it everywhere with me.

As I cannot use my CF cards in it, what speed do SD Cards need to be to get 5fps?

Dhl delivery e mail is in hand its coming monday! its back up at £469 so 295 is a real bargain,how much are yours stuart?

Yes mine came monday and its head and shoulders above my d5000 ,the images its producing on the kit lens are staggering! i could not be happier.
 
I would have happily purchased a A500 at that price and sold my A450.
