I am most chuffed indeed!

I was interviewed by The Photographer magazine, its an industry publication created by the British Institute of Professional Photography, on my recent trip to Africa as they wanted to do a profile on me.

The Feb edition popped through the post the other day and I have a full 8 pages across the centre of the magazine. Its rather nice to see your work printed in a glossy and its certainly good for the exposure too.

I spoke to the editor about getting a PDF version, and they kindly let me use a PDF of the mag on my website :)

Here is a link for those interested.

Very chuffed indeed.

Oh, and watch this space as a media agency have just signed me up for the full story and I may be getting an article in one of the sunday supplements... which would be nice :D

Very very nice.. well done and more hopefully :)

wahay! get in there. Give yourself a pat on the back!
Must be that zoolander pose that did it :D

Congratulations James and here's to many more.

I dunno why, I thought they were Carp!!!!

Only messing, great shots, well done! Will read the interview when I get time.

Great work James, very nice indeed. When are you headed back?

Excellent, well done mate, looks really good

Congratulations, looks like an amazing trip. Are you sure they were happy for you to use ALL of the magazine PDF on your site? I can understand them letting you use the article but all 60 pages? Anyway, yeah, congrats

Is he that much of a competitive threat that you want shot of him already? :D

I _wish_ I was a threat to James ;) This work's a whole other league.

I was thinking the same thing too. :suspect:

Wow great spread - congratulations James. Have saved the pdf to read at my leisure.

well done  great job you must be fair tickled thats for sure...:D

Oh wow, those are great pictures! Congratulations, well done! :)

Thanks everyone for the kind comments, its really nice to start seeing things happen slowly but surely. I just need to keep pushing the stuff out there and see if I can get a commision for this kind of work... you never know.

Oh, and about the whole mag as a PDF... I did wonder about that myself and contacted the editor about it, but he wanted me to put the whole mag up and not just my article. I guess its just free advertising for the mag

Oh, and the next two trips are being planned now, I just hope that I can raise enough capital to get them underway.

The first is to travel to South Africa to live with the Zulu's as we know someone who has come from the tribes and is now living in the western world but can take us back there, and from there to live with the san bushmen for a time.

Then at the end of the year, I am planning to stay some in some really remote monastaries in tibet to document the day to day lives of the monks there. this will be pretty hardcore, so I will need to train much harder for this one!

So yes, a busy year ahead! Now I must go back to my daily routine of checking behind the sofa to find cash to pay for all of this :D
