Hi all,

Just found these forums while at work so haven't got to much time to look through them at the moment. What i have seen so far looks good though :)

I've been interested in photography for about 6 years using mainly an old 35mm SLR and compact digital camera (neither are anything amazing by any stretch of the imagination but have got me by until now. I'm planning on buying a digital Canon 350d in the near future so i can enjoy the flexiblity of an SLR without the problems i have with film (no space/money to set up a darkroom). As such once i get it i plan to start taking my "hobby" a lot more seriously so finding a forum with so many users who all seem to be so friendly is brilliant!

I'm currently working as a marine recruitment consultant, basically what i do is find crew (officers, engineers, hospitality, etc) to work on cruise ships and super yachts. Before this i was working within the IT field as an engineer for 4 years. I live in Kent and other then Technology (I love gadgets) and photography my big passion is cars. I'm currently driving a mazda MX5 which despite ts undeserved image as a hairdressers car is one of the most fun cars to drive that i have ever had.

Well that is probably way more information about me then any of you want to know :), i look forward to speaking with you all soon.

Welcome to what most of us consider home. I am glad that from your short time here you like what you have seen and appreciate the friendly, fun and helpful atmosphere that we all work hard to create and maintain.

I am sure you will be very impressed with the 350D when you finally get you hands on it. The 350D is a very capable camera and some of our members are already using this model. If you need any help or just want to shoot the breeze, please feel free to post on the forums.

I and the other admins had also received your email which we are discussing currently. I will get back to you as soon as possible with some information and hopefully we will be able to help.
