Hi guys, I don't usually do posts like that but wanted to share with ye some recent events good and bad.

Got back into photography at the start of the year after my missus splurged out on a Canon 400D for me. The year previous I had been hit pretty hard with depression and she says the change in me once I started going out and about with the camera was almost instant. So the rest of the year is looking up.

In July I proposed to her (first time I've seen her speechless for 10mins), she accepted and her and our 9yr old daughter been pestering me constantly since about getting the arrangements sorted eve though it's 2 years away. All worth it for the 10mins of silence in my opinion though...:D

Most of August things turned really bad for me again however as I've been spending all of my time and energy fighting and scraping up cash to save our house from repossession. With one day to go and with a lot of help from my family and friends we managed it!.

Inbetween all of the first few paragraghs I had been hassled by her to go and try college for photography as I obviously loved it and with her new shifts she could look after our daughter while I was at college. I've been at home looking after our daughter since she was born while the other half worked. So I did and got unconditional offer to join the course, induction is tomorrow and I start for real on Monday.

So I'm back being my cheery auld self again (I hope) and I couldn't done without the love and support of me fiancee and daughter.

Cheers Chris, I'm really looking forward to the rest of the year now and college especially, Nearly 40 but it's gonna feel great to be doing something I enjoy on a regular basis again.

And yeah 10mins...must check Guinness book of records about that. ;)

glad things are looking up for you. im off work the now with stress and getting out and about this week with the camera has helped relax me! going to try Stills for a camera course in October.
hope things go well with the wedding planning! haha
 
Life can be pretty awful sometimes, but there is always a good side to it. Just keep plugging away at it and NEVER stop trying. I really do with you all the best Tommy. It'll work out for you in the end I'm sure.

Well done. I know personally how horrible depression is, so know full well how much of a jubilation it is coming out the other side :)

Depression is something I have been and am dealing with, it's not something I would ever wish on anyone.

As for the wedding, those 2 years will come and go, very quickly! I was like "yeah yeah, 2 years away, whatever" then it was like "****, its only 2 weeks away and we've got so much to do" :D
 
I am glad things are looking up for you Tommy.Wondered where you had been the last few weeks. Hope your fiancee dosn't read your comment or is she a good sport ?

Glad to hear things are looking up Tommy and congrats on the acceptance :thinking::thinking: I think a lot of people seem to think that because you are a bloke that you can deal with a lot of things in life, but we are just as prone to getting depressed when things aint good :( All the best for the future :thumbs:

Sounds like you have been through a lot...and it's now starting to look good for you and your family !! well done ...

Just think you will look back in a years time and think we made it :clap::clap:

Awww what a lovely sentiment (you soppy git!)

I'm glad that there have been plenty of highs for you in the last few months in amongst the lows. And it really sounds like everything's back on track for you now.

Best of luck with your college course. Having seen your shots on here you obviously have a knack for it, so I'll be expecting to see great things from you over the next few months.

Gonetae , your story is far from a 'boring wee story' , i would call it more an 'inspiration to others' , i have been through pretty much the same as you have and have emerged the other side , took some doing but i got there , the same as you :thumbs:
